CONDITION: Item is in very good condition although there are minor visible cracks on the flat cover due to age, handling and usage. DESCRIPTION: Antique Anglo-Indian ivory and silver or pewter inlaid box. The flat cover revealing six smaller and one large compartments. Decorated in geometric patterns with silver or pewter. Fine box which probably started life as a sewing box but which has lost much of its interior fittings. Circa 2nd half 19th century.
